What is the ideal measurement for my stick?
It is very important to know that the choice of your stick size at any level is entirely subjective. There are players over 190 cm who use 36.5 ”. At initial levels, the size of the stick ratio is as follows:
- Less than 140 cm - 26 ”28” 30”
- Up to 155 cm - 32 ”34”
- More than 160 cm – more than 36.5”
The relation between measurement and height are simply examples and VLACK is not responsible for the selection of the product by the user / client.
Do the sticks vary according to the position on the field?
No, in modern hockey the selection of the stick is related to the technical gestures and the composition according to the level of performance.
What is the gutter for?
Depending on its location, the function varies. In our Powerful line the gutter is located in the bottem of the stick, which will help you have more control over the ball; while in the Premium, Pro and MG15 lines it is located between 15 cm and 20 cm, benefiting dragging and pushing gestures.
What is the age-appropriate composition?
It is important to clarify that the composition to be selected is directly related to the force that will be applied to the stick. Although age is a good indicator, not all players of the same age have the same strength.
Some useful recommendations are as follows:
- Initial levels less than 8 years old: 100% wood.
- Initial levels up to 10 years: between 5% and 10% carbon.
- Girls up to 15 years old: between 10% and 30% carbon.
- Children up to 15 years old: between 30% and 50% carbon.
- Ladies: between 10% and 50% carbon.
- Women over 16 years old: between 50% to 100% carbon.
- Men over 16 years old: between 70% to 100% carbon.

Are the indoor sticks for field hockey?
No. Indoor hockey is a sport very similar to field hockey but with other rules.
